Thought I installed Ndiswrapper the other day. In a file search it was it was in my downloads and even simi fixed my ATI Graphics after the download.So last night I was double checking to make sure Ndiswrapper was installed b/c have not been able to use my wireless for a week now, by which I am becoming extremely annoyed. I saw that it was not installed when I tried to install and I get the following error (Not a valid driver .inf file.)

HelloI've installed the "windows wireless drivers" program,and have been trying to use it to install the driver for a Sitecom WL-140-card.This windows wireless program keeps telling me that the program-file I chose is no ".inf"-file.The ".inf" is part of the driver-program I've downloaded,as far as I can see,but the windows wireless-program doesn't recognize it.I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what to do.Best

I had to download the drivers from the netgear website though because the one linked to by the tutorial didn't detect the dongle.I installed the drivers, everything working perfectly. Reboot, and it freezes half-way through booting. So I removed the dongle and rebooted again. I have a HP DV6000 with Natty. I picked this for next to nothing and the HDD was wiped so I decided I wanted to mess around with Ubuntu a little bit. I have everything working on this machine except the wireless. It has an onboard Broadcom, but after hours beyond hours of trying to get that configured, I still had no luck. I think the wireless card port on the mobo itself maybe dead. However, I just bought a WNA1000M just to get it on wireless again, but I can't seem to get this working either. Hi. I updated yesterday and they BROKE the wireless driver. I've NEVER heard of updates that make things WORSE.:mad: Now It shows no wireless networks upon right click and left click on the network icon. It shows my network info in "Edit Wireless Networks..." but includes no option to connect. How do I fix it?

I'm dual-booting between Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. My problem is when I try to install my NetGear WN111 USB Apter via ndisgtk and it doesn't work. I tried to use the oem13.inf (ignore the 13, Windows 7 was stupid with me) file. First of all, I have checked under Windows 7's Device Manger for what inf file that the apter uses and it did tell me it's oem13.inf. Is that the right driver inf file? I have the Netgear Wireless adaptor WG111v2, and need to configure it to work with Ubuntu 7.04. I went to the NDISWrapper site and found that there were quite around 8 or 10 different driver entries on the site that matched my adaptor model number, WG111v2. I just purchased this netgear WPNT511 pcmcia wireless adapter & I find out its not supported by Ubuntu gutsy 7.10. I have another adapter I can use, but since I have netgear router & netgear range extender, I would very much like to be able to use my netgear pcmcia card. There are 2 possibilities:I) Kernel 2.6.8.1-4 and 2.6.8.1-5 have a working prism2_usb kernel module for the MA111. Newer and older kernels have a version of prism2_usb which fails to start up the MA111. It might be tricky to install the new (or old kernels) without an internet connection, since the warty distribution on cd has the kernel 2.6.8.1-3. If you install the right kernels (-4, -5) and reboot, there should be 'Wireless connection' shown in the 'Networking' - administration tool.II) Use the ndiswrapper module. I previously had a suse 10.1and windows XPand now i switched to a Opensuse10.3 and Kubuntu7.10 and Windows XP .I am having trouble with th Wireless lan again. The windows driver is in the ntfs partition and i have mounted it and so dont have a problem in finding it.In suse after installing the ndiswrapper rpm i tried ndiswrapper -i <driver_inf_file> ,and ndiswrapper -a devid drivert tells me tat the driver is not properly installed althoug it is listed when i use -l.I ll also post a list of commands and the o/p below.I would like someone to help as i dont understand where the mistake is!
