I am not finding a downloadable document for Server 6.06 Installation Guide. I can find one for 6.10 Alternate CD but not 6.06 Server. The only reason it's a big deal is that the 6.06 Ubuntu Server Guide makes reference to it. The install write-up in the Server Guide is literally 1 1/3 pages long and very general.
I would like to know if there is a PDF or single-html version of the Ubuntu 6.10 Installation Guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/installation-guide/i386/index.html) available, for convenient printing.I am not sure if this is the best sub-forum for asking this, could not find any more suitable one.
Where can i find an ubuntu 6.06 installation guide. I've searched everywhere but unable to find one. Is the installation that easy?

I have absolutely no experience in server installation, and want to get into it.Is there a server installation guide for ubuntu out there that will walk me through and explain the most common settings?Currently I have only experience with the desktop version (running it for almost a year), so I know that I am in deep water, probably not ready to go there, and most likely have no business trying to install a server. BUT, I want to try anyway :lolflag:Any help would be appreciated.

I've written a very long Ubuntu installation guide, starting with seemingly trivial basics like which arch or release to choose from on the Ubuntu site, how to check your ISO MD5 via burning to full, step-by-step installation, with quite a bit of emphasis on partitioning.I think this can be quite useful, especially for new users ... I have the Quick Installation Guide for Oracle 10g Rel 1 (10.1.0.3) for IBM zSeries Based Linux. OK the Quick one doesn't seem to be complete. Where is the full installation guide? I have the B14117_1 set of books, but there doesn't seem to be any installation related manuals there. My problem is that after installation of Oracle, and loading the sample databases, after a boot, not only don't I have Oracle (which I need to manually start), but I don't have access to "sqlplus". On the surface, it seems the Quick installation guide didn't mention any method of "keeping" the environment variables.
