I have 2 x IBM T/Pad i-1200 laptops. One has a DVD rom the other has a CD-Rom. I wanted to put a DVD-Rom in the 2nd machine and purchased a Toshiba SD-C2502 (ver. 1011) which I understood to be compatible with the CD-C2402 DVD in the other machine. I therefore expected this to be a straight swap but I get The messages - 050. Ide Primary Channel Master Drive Errors, and 060. Equipment Configuration Error. I'm guessing this is because both my HDD and new DVD-Rom are set to Primary Master so I need to change the DVD-Rom but preferably without having to do any soldering or anything that might stop

I've been using Ubuntu on my IBM R51 for a few years now, dual-booted with XP. The thing is, I think I don't need XP anymore. I don't know if this helps.. but I did it using my IBM THINKPAD X40.I used a program called Partition Magic 8.0 to reduce my partition before installing Ubuntu. It can safely reduce the partition without affecting the R&R partition. I think I finally did it! Finally I got a functioning sleep with my brand new reinstalled Ubuntu 6.10 on my standard IBM Thinkpad R50e. I am still not completely sure about it, but it seems to function perfectly for now, no more graphic problems, resume problems, nothing. I really hope it is the good time ! :D I stumbled upon the solution by chance. First of all, I substituted the sleep.sh text with the hack provided here (http://www.ossgeeks.co.uk/?p=10) . I got an ibm eserver where I'm working now its got a p4 2.8 but it's socket 478 so I don't think I want it. IBM Director Gurus,I am trying to get hardware failure monitoring/alerting working for several ESXi hosts that do not have the IBM agent software installed. Installing/running it on our VMware hosts is not currently an option.I added the servers to our IBM director server and they all show up with an OK status. That's great except one of the hosts has a failed power supply as indicated in the RSA II adapter web GUI. Am new to IBM system director. I have installed 'IBM Systems Director Server 6.2.1.2' in the windows box, to monitor my AIX LPAR's. AIX (6.1) Lpars having 'DirectorCommonAgent 6.2.1.3 ,DirectorPlatformAgent 6.2.1.2' Packages. I have done the discovery and provided the access from HMC level.Am trying to monitor some of the resources(ex:CPU,Memory). But all the monitors are showing 'No Data Available'. Example In the monitor under 'Common CIM Monitors' i have activated the thershold for 'CPU % Utilization' it's showing 'No Data Available'. Do I need to do any more setup to make this work ? Pleas

Just checking, does anyone is having any idea about the IBM hardware documentation. I was using the publib.boulder site to get the IBM pSeries hardware guide for all p4, p5 and p6 system. But now a days I am getting error while opening the hardware service guide like this "The document that you have requested is not available. To summarize the problem: The "IBM FastT Storage Manager Client v8" shows that our Disk Farm is arranged into 6 logical drives each in a RAID 5 configuration. This software also shows that 5 of the 6 logical drives (from Disk Farm) are in a error state: "Failed Logical Drive - Drive Failure". However none of the hard disks in the Disk Farm have RED LED lights displayed, so we do not think it is a hardware issue. Out of the 42 hard disks in the disk farm, the software is displaying a Yellow X Icon on 10 of these drives. (See the attached PDF to this post for a picture of the GUI)I powered down

Need some help. I've a cluster svr on SLES9 that has IBM Dir. Agent 5.10 & IBM Director svr on same platform which I installed IBM Dir5.10. I accidentally deleted 1 of the system in IBM Dir. Console & hv not been able to discover the system manually or automatically. I've tried to uninstall the IBM Dir.Agent on respective svr but still to no avail. Also tried to manually broadcast the svr via IP Address but no go. Pls help!!!!!
