I installed Oracle 11g on a Windows Vista Ultimate Edition system, but after creating the database the system started to continously issue the message “nmefwmi.exe has stopped working”, and whenever this message is issued the database management web console is no longer functioning. We have windows 2003 server and we are running 2 oracle databases inversion 11g.We were successfully configured EM for one database and when we weretried for the other database we encountered configuration errors andwe were able to sort by searching on "google", solution was "ocijdbc10file has to be placed in the bin directoy". It worked but we landed upin accessing the EM. It is not accepting sys/pwd as sysdba which i canuse for the sqlplus session.Can anybody suggest what would be the cause and solution or workaround for this.

But today, i have decided to deinstall it and go for Oracle 10g version for 32 bit.Everything went normal during installation, but i can see the services is not present in services.msc. I am having problems installing the Oracle Client 11g R2 64 bit installation on my Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise machine. The installer does all the checks successfully, it gets me to summary screen and I press finish to start the installation. I installed Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2R2 on my PC w/ Windows 7 Professional.when I try to run emctl.bat start dbconsole,I get ORACLE_UNQNAME is not defined.Yet I have executed the commandset ORACLE_UNQNAME=orcl.168.1.4, which is what my global db name is, and when I issuejustsetin the command interface I getORACLE_UNQNAME=orcl.168.1.4.So how come emctl.bat can't find this environment variable?Any help much appreciated.

I am coming for your help with a query uncommon. I have configured, my oracle 11g database, on windows 32 bit machine. Initially I had set sga_target to enable ASMM expecting Oracle to manage this part. However, upon subsequent restart, DB could never be started with continuous "ORA-12853 cannot allocate xxxxK blocks to PX" stuff. Reading some content over the net, I've unset SGA_TARGET and turned OFF ASMM and managed to start the db.
