My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050. • How Do I Get Native Resolution of Canon Printers?

For Epson Printers, I get the native resolution from the members, dmPrintQuality and dmYResolution of the DEVMODE data structure, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd183565(VS.85).aspx, but this doesn't work for Canon printers which give a negative value for the former and zero for the latter. By trial and error, I know the Canon native resolution is usually 600 dpi, but what does Canon and Microsoft expect programmers to do to get the native resolution?

I want to buy my son a lcd monitor for Christmas. I'm pretty well decided on the 22" Samsung 226 BW which has a native resolution of 1680 X 1050. • nvidia driver chooses wrong native resolution

I have a GeForce 6600 on an x86_64 Mandriva Linux box, and a Hyundai 32" monitor. The native resolution is 1360x768. The open-source nv driver works fine at this resolution (see attached xorg.conf). However, the nvidia driver ignores my modelines and resolution lines, and defaults to 1280x1024, which is not only wrong, but the wrong aspect ratio, so everything is stretched. 1360x768 is listed in the EDID, so I'm not sure why it's ignoring it. See attached log. I've also tried deleting the vert/horiz lines, the modelines, and the resolution lines allowing everything to go automatic, with th

  • Ubuntu Incorrect native resolution

I have an Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT video card with a native 1440x900 monitor. For some reason, the nvidia configuration says that my native resolution is only 640x480. Is there any way to change this using xorg.conf or maybe through terminal?

  • Ubuntu Can't return laptop to native resolution

So I was trying to get my HDTV to work as an external monitor for my laptop through a VGA cable. I fiddled things around with the system>prefs>screen resolution tool, and at one point I agreed to change the virtual resolution. At this point, both the external and the laptop monitors switched over to 1360x768 (native for the TV), and both mirroring and side-by-side worked, albeit with the laptop at a weird resolution (although sometimes the mouse would refuse to travel over). When I disconnected the external, I can't figure out how to go back to 1440x900, my laptop's native. It lists out

GreetingsI have a Nvidia 5600 ultra video card and a Westinghouse Wide screen LCD monitor. My native resolution is 1440x900 and it works fine except when I enable the effects. I have the outputs auto detected and set in CCSM and it still does not work. Can anyone help?

  • Ubuntu Native Resolution...

My 19' Dell monitor has a native resolution of 1440x900. Ever since I installed Ubuntu on it, Nvidia X Server Settings (System -> Administration) allows me to display at a higher resolution (if not set to Auto I am able to set it at 1920x1080) than my Native and what Windows Vista allowed me in the past. My question is will running on a higher resolution have a negative impact on the Image Quality, my screen or any other hardware?

  • Ubuntu Disc not detecting native resolution

I am planning on installing Ubuntu on my new laptop with a native resolution of 1920x1080 however the install disc (I booted into the "test") part, sets my resolution to 2048x1536. Keeping it on 2048x1536 cuts off about 50 pixels on the right side of my screen so it must not be right. So I tried changing it from the "Monitors" settings back to 1920x1080 and everything is so large and it is stretched horizontally. Is this just because I'm running the "try me" part, or is there something wrong with Ubuntu and my video card?Product: US-VPCF1290X-LBOMComponent: Standa

I guess the MX 460 cant do 1600x1200 on the dvi output but somehow it can do it on the vga output? I guess I could just use a vga connection instead of the dvi connection. </EDIT>The problem I'm having is that my LCD monitor (acer AL2021) can't be used at it's native resolution of 1600x1200. This is probably because my GeForce 7950gt graphics card is not being recognized. Xorg seems to think my card is a GeForce4 M 460. (It's not, really!) I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.Here's w

I remember back in Dapper, we had to edit xorg.conf, which I'm willing to do if need be.Any insight would be greatly appreciated!-Mark

  • Ubuntu 855resolution fix doesn't have native resolution

    I'm using Ubuntu on an Inspiron 500m with Intel Integrated 82852/855 Graphics. Currently I can only get a resolution of 1280x1024. I've installed the 855 resolution package from synaptic and used $ sudo 855resolution -lto get a list of available modes. It returns pretty much every one but 1400x1050, which is the native resolution for this screen.855resolution version 0.4, by Alain PoirierChipset: 855GM (id=0x35808086)VBIOS type: 1VBIOS Version: 29Mode 30 : 640x480, 8 bits/pixelMode 32 : 800x600, 8 bits/pixelMode 34 : 1024x768, 8 bits/pixelMode 38 : 1280x1024, 8 bits/pixelMode 3a : 1600x1200,

  • Ubuntu Dell Inspiron 8100 - Native vs. Non-Native Resolution

I've just discovered Ubuntu (thanks to ShellCity (http://shellcity.net/)) and scholpped it unto my 8100. Whenever I switch to a non-native resolution (eg. anything other than 1600X1200), there's a black border around the entire viewable area. IOW, the lower resolutions don't seem to stretch out to fill up the entire display. I've installed the nVidia driver (with help from the fine Unofficial Ubuntu 4.10 Starter Guide (http://ubuntuguide.org/index.html#installnvidiadriver)), and it doesn't seem to help. Changing from 'nv' to 'nvidia' causes X to fail upon startup, so I have a feeling that this

  • Ubuntu 2407wfp-hc showing wrong native resolution in NVIDIA-settings

I've been trying everything I can think of, and every suggestion I can find, to get my Dell 24" 2407WFP-HC to display 1920x1200. I've messed with Modelines, installed the latest NVIDIA X driver, etc, no dice. One odd thing that I've found is that in the NVIDIA-settings config app, it shows the native resolution, and best fit resolution, as 1600x1200. That seems kind of odd to me, since I know for a fact (and half the reason I bought it) the screen will display 1920x1200, and that's it's native resolution. I've gotten it to work fine in XP, but Ubuntu (7.10) seems to think otherwise.Any id
