Ensure that you configure SUDO in your environment. If you are unable to do so or if you have already upgraded any of the core components (OMS or Management Agent) without configuring SUDO, then follow the workaround described in My Oracle Support note 945697.1.
 


but I feel the above mentioned note is not available or there is some typo error in the doc.

    i m installing Grid Control 10.2.0.3 on RHEL5 (64-bit) with a new database install option. Installation goes smooth until the configuration assistant window comes to OMS CONFIGURATION. it fails giving the error in its install log as

    ....
    Operation EM Deploying is in progress.
    Operation Unlocking Passwords and Out of Box setup is in progress.

    Operation Instantiate emoms.properties is in progress.

    Operation Configuring OMS is in progress.

    OMS is being Secured and Lock is set to true.

    Precompiling JSPs.
    Performing installation of CLI services for client.

    Operation Restarting OPMN Processes is in progress.

    Command = oracle.sysman.emcp.oms.OmsPlugIn has failed

    I have installed Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1 on the same machine as well. I did researchd on this issue reading metalink doc 436605.1 and other threads on this forum but couldn't get to solution.
    and one more thing at the prechecks of grid control installation two of the packages gave warning that they were not found, i hope they are not making the issue here...

    Any help regarding this would be appreciated

  • Re: Oracle Intellegent Agent Startup Fail

    Recently i have 2 oracle 9i database server {A} & {B}, and my task is to migrate all the data from {A} To {B}.

    I used [Orcale Management Server - OMS] to login for connect both server for data manipulation. However, when i used [Discover Nodes] in the [Oracle Enterprise Manager Console], the [A] cant find.

    I found that [OracleOraHome92Agent] in Windows [Services] is not Started even i manually start it. I found 1 web site told about [How does one start the Oracle Intelligent Agent?] in URL [http://www.orafaq.com/faqoem.htm#IA-START].
    I have follow the steps and also cant get it started succeefully.

    Besides that, i also found that [Oracle HTTP Server - Apache JServ] is not successful start up also. Error Msg is written below:

    "Syntax error on line 92 of c:/oracle/ora92/sqlplus/admin/isqlplus.conf: FastCgiServer: redefinition of a previously defined FastCGI server "c:/oracle/ora92/bin/isqlplus"
    Note the errors or messages above, and press the <ESC> key to exit.

    It is the [HTTP Server] cant start up affected the [Oracle Intelligent Agent]?

  • Oracle Segmenation fault after Installation of 9.2.0.4 on RHEL 3.0

    My environment is as follows
    AIX 5.3
    Hardware - p650 server
    10.2.0.1 grid control

    I am in the process of installing grid control. My objective is to install 10.2.0.3 grid control. I installed 10.2.0.1 grid control. To apply patch 4329444, the document says stop all instance with a clean shutdown.
    I followed the "Oracle® Enterprise Manager Advanced Configuration
    10g Release 4 (10.2.0.4.0)"
    document to stop all the components.
    I know I have used the 10.2.0.4 version document, whereas my version is 10.2.0.1. I thought that start stop process should be same, i am unable to locate the document for 10.2.0.1
    I have pasted the steps as in the above document

    To stop all the Grid Control components on a host, use the following procedure:

    Stop the Oracle Management Service:

    $PROMPT> $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl stop oms

    Set the ORACLE_HOME environment variable to the Management Repository database home directory.

    It all works fine upto step 4.

    on Step 5, I can connect to the database, but shutdown or shutdown immediate oes not work. I tried using shutdown abort and then startup and shutdown immediate.
    shutdown abort works,
    startup works
    but shutdown immediate hagns up.

    Please suggest me how can I cleanly shutdown it to apply the patch 4329444 and the upgrade to 10.2.0.3

  • Oracle Find out OMS_PORT number?

    While editing additional_agent.rsp file, I have to supply my OMS_PORT number on my 11gR2 GC admin server, but I can not find it in the E:\Oracle\Middleware\oms11g\install\portlist.ini file. The file is empty; however, it looks like Middleware is installed on my 11gR2 GC admin server.

    Here is part of my additional_agent.rsp file

    ORACLE_AGENT_HOME_LOCATION="E:\app\Middleware"
    OMS_HOST="dba-admin"
    OMS_PORT="?????????"

    However, when I try to use default OMS_PORT=4900, I get an error "management service on host dba-admin at port 4900 is unreachable" when installing oracle management agent on my rac nodes.

    Here is the info:
